Celebrate New Year in Vietnam

Happy New Yare 2008!!!

I had visited Vietnam for my holiday with my family to celebrate New Year 2008. I had chosen tour package from Phnom Penh to Dalat. Dalat is a city on the mountain (1500m from sea level). The temperature was  12 at nigh, and 17 at noon.

Interview with Australia Radio

I had been interviewed with Australia Radio about Stockholm Challenge Award that KhmerOS selected as one of the two best development project that uses Information Technology to improve economic.

KhmerOS is based in two simple principles : there is no economic development in countries that do not use technology; and, there is no widespread use of technology if the technology is not available in the language of the country.

Attended Youth Festival 2007 – Takeo Province

On 22-23 December 2007, I had been attended youth festival 2007 at Takeo province to present Khmer Unicode and Khmer Software, Linux Khmer and introduction to Blog in Khmer.

Lunch Khmer Software Training at North-West of the Country

Open School Program a joint project of MoYS and Open Institute, has lunched ICT training in Siem Reap province from 22-26 Oct 2007. There are 75 participants who are high school teachers, come from Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Oddor Meanchey and Siem Reap province.

Training include Khmer Software(OpenOffice), Unicode Khmer and Computer maintenance.

Trip to Kampong Speu, Visiting Orphanage

On 29th Oct 2007 at 6:30 am, I had joint a trip to Kampong Speu province for community event with Yourth Network for Change group. The place that we visit was Orphan Care and Training Organization, we took 2 hours from Phnom Penh to got there. This orphanage contained 85 children and few staffs, located in Deiambel 1 Village, Trengtroyeung commune, Phnomsruoch District, Kampong Speu province.

We divided into groups, one group contain 5 to 10 children, I took 10 children.

Each group has 20 to 30 minutes to talk and play with them, educated them. At the end of group meet up, we all had make some educated question to ask them. Then we meet up all together and ask them what did they learn? Are you happy to play with us? How do you feel?…And answer all the question that had been conducted by each group’s representative, If the Kids answer correctly, they will get present.

This is my 6th times to meet with Kids in primary school and orphanage center.
